Phil Elverum’s music under the Mount Eerie imprimatur — the soft delivery and introspective lyrics describing the “blank peace” of sunrise or the brutal truths of personal loss — is intimate, powerful, often raw. For a Sonoma show on Friday, December 6, he’s reunited with Canadian performer Joan Dorion.
“She has been my favorite singer since 1993 when I first heard her, and subsequently devoted my life to music and art,” he says. The two collaborated on the record Lost Wisdom in 2008. “Now we get to do some more singing and playing together,” showcasing their new release Lost Wisdom pt. 2.
