Huge arts & crafts sale this weekend

Posted on December 3, 2019 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Fifty local artists offer their unique, handmade items for sale December 6-8 at the Sonoma Community Center’s ninth annual Fine Craft & Art Holiday Sale.

The wide selection includes pottery, purses, succulent arrangements, hand-knit wearables, prints, paintings and even sterling silver and porcelain jewelry.

“Shopping for gifts can be heart-warming when you meet the artist or find something truly unique for someone you love.” says Kala Stein, director of Ceramics and Arts.  “Even more, shopping at the Center helps to support our art programming, bringing it all back to the importance and quality of our community.”

Many of the featured artisans make their work at the Center or teach there. The artists donate 35% of the sale price to support educational art programming.

An Opening Reception kicks off the weekend-long sale on Friday, December 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.  Guests are encouraged to dress in their holiday best, shining their holiday spirit.

All work will be for sale during the reception and the artists will be present to discuss their artistic process. Pieces are priced from $5-$500, and Center gift certificates will be available as well.

The sale will occupy the entire second floor of the Sonoma Community Center in five rooms with 10 artists in each room.  The second floor is accessible by elevator, and there will be shopping assistants to help with the checkout process. The address is 276 East Napa St.

 Shopping opportunities are spread across three days, Friday December 6, 5-8 p.m.; Saturday December 7, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday December 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
