Mentoring Alliance makes a move

Posted on October 14, 2019 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Lee Morgan Brown, executive director of the Sonoma Mentoring Alliance, shows off the nonprofit agency’s new home at the Sonoma Community Center.

Relocating from a smaller, nondescript office setting is a great way to head into 2020 and the organization’s 25th year. “We couldn’t do better to bring ourselves into the community eye,” she said. “A community program here at the center goes hand in hand.”

The larger space, and close access to even larger rooms, will allow the Alliance to now do its many meetings and training sessions on site.

To chat about the program and show off the new space, the Alliance will host casual ‘morning coffee’ events Tuesday mornings in October.

The Mentoring Alliance was formed to create long-term relationships between caring adults and at-risk school children in need of academic and social support. Morgan Brown took the top spot in 2015.
