RESOURCES FOR SONOMA VALLEY RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY THE FIRES

16 October 2017

This information was compiled by the City of Sonoma as a resource for Valley residents affected by the fires in our area, and will be updated daily for the coming week.

SONOMA COUNTY COMMUNITY HOTLINE: (707) 565-3856 or 2-1-1.
This is the number to call regarding information and services for evacuees.

LOCAL ASSISTANCE CENTER (LAC):
Open 9 am – 6 pm in the Press Democrat Building in downtown Santa Rosa, 427 Mendocino Ave between Ross and 5th.  The LAC is a one-stop shop with critical services for residents who have been impacted by the fires, with representatives from FEMA, DMV, the Red Cross, Small Business Administration, HOPE Animal Assistance Crisis Response, Veterans Affairs, and various Sonoma County services.  Free parking off B St. in the City lot; located 3 blocks from the Downtown Transit Mall.  Disabled access provided; Spanish translation; childrens play area.

MISSING PEOPLE:
Register you’re safe or find people who have registered as safe on the American Red Cross site: http://safeandwell.org/.
Call (707) 565-3856 to report a missing person. If you make a report and then locate them, please call the hotline again to report the person found.

POWER OUTAGE INFORMATION:
PG&E is working to both restore power and gas where safe to do so and to de-activate power from some areas to assist with firefighting efforts. Their goal is to restore power by Monday night. To see areas without power, visit https://m.pge.com/#outages

SHELTER INFORMATION FOR SONOMA VALLEY:
The evacuation center at Sonoma High will be closing Monday 10/16 at 6 pm, and people will be transitioned to alternative shelters in Sonoma County. All school-based centers in the County are being closed, and evacuees transferred to Red Cross operated centers so that the schools can prepare to reopen. The County will be assessing locations for longer-term shelters.

Update from the Sonoma (Broadway) Post Office:
In an effort to ensure the safety of our employees and the mail from the ongoing firestorms in the surrounding area, the Post Office is temporarily providing service for the following areas from the 617 Broadway, City of Sonoma facility:

Sonoma, Glen Ellen, El Verano, Eldridge, Boyes Hot Springs, Vineburg, Kenwood.

Where and when it is still reasonably safe to do so carriers will still attempt to deliver as normal on their routes.

If you receive a notice left slip, or if you are located in mandatory evacuation area, or if it is no longer reasonably safe to deliver at your address, or if you have a PO Box at any of the above listed facilities, the mail is being held here at this facility where you may pick it up.


The hours at 617 Broadway, City of Sonoma facility for mail pickup are as follows:
Monday – Friday 9AM-5PM
Saturday – 10AM-2PM
