Childbirth prep classes at SV Hospital

Sonoma Valley Hospital will present Childbirth Preparation classes, covering labor and birth, relaxation techniques and pain-relief options, beginning September 11.

Classes will be held on four consecutive Mondays though October 2, 6 to 8 p.m.

The class will be led by an experienced perinatal nurse from the Hospital’s birthing center, and is intended for women in their second or third trimester. Topics include pregnancy wellness, lactation and breast feeding, and how partners can help.

The series will be repeated November 13, 20, 27, and December 4.

The SVH birthing center, called the Birthplace, has three private suites for labor, birthing and recovery, and five postpartum rooms, staffed by an experienced team of skilled obstetric nurses who provide personalized attention.
