So you want to sell weed for a living…

To assist aspiring cannabis entrepreneurs, Sonoma County Cannabis Program launches in May with an overview of  permit, taxation, and compliance issues for the emerging industry.

recreational-marijuana-in-colorado-9434820-87-thumb-250x219The eight-part workshop “Dirt to Dispensary” is designed to assist cannabis businesses in preparing permit applications for the July 1 start date. Those interested in starting a cannabis business, permitting an existing operation, or getting more detail about what is required of cannabis businesses are encouraged to attend.

Workshops will be held on eight consecutive Wednesdays, from May 3 through June 21, from 3 to 5 p.m.

May 3rd – Workshop #1: Sonoma County Cannabis Program Overview. Glaser Center, 547 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa

All remaining workshops will be held at the Permit and Resource Management Department’s Hearing Room, at 2550 Ventura Avenue, Santa Rosa.

  • May 10th – Workshop #2: Cultivation Permits 101
  • May 17th – Workshop #3: Ordinance Standards and Best Management Practices Compliance for Cultivation
  • May 24th – Workshop #4: Water and Wastewater
  • May 31st – Workshop #5: Cultivation Infrastructure
  • June 7th – Workshop #6: Manufacturing
  • June 14th – Workshop #7: Dispensaries
  • June 21st – Workshop #8: Taxation

Following the workshop series, the permitting agencies will be hosting hands-on permitting workshops to assist operators with their applications. Application forms and informational handouts available at: http://sonomacounty.ca.gov/Cannabis.
